67th Temple Cleaming [Uzhavarappani] at

26 June 2011 - Report on Uzhavarappani- at Thirupporur
 
LDSFT arranged a Deluxe Bus on Sunday 26 June 2011 to go to

Arul Migu Kandaswamy Tirukoil ,Tiruporur for 67 th month Temple Cleaning.
42 members were in Bus, 4 joined at Temple, in that 22 members were Ladies.
On way we all visited a Salt Farm of M/S Sk. Subbiah Pillai & Sons, at Kelambakkam.

We were given a sumptuous breakfast, thanks to owner Shri. K. Mariappan and his son Shri. Ramesh.
We saw salt manufacturing areas, their 3 products ie I Sakti, pure table salt, Iodised for Tata Chemicals:
Iodised Salt for Public Distribution by Govt. of Tamil Nadu: Pure Iodised Salt for Local market.
The Visit was educative on salt manufacturing.
At Tiruporur Murugan Temple members were appraised by Dr.R.Subramanian
about the history and rituals and important faiths.
LDSFT thank Sri. Bala Krishnan, EO and Shri. Vetrivel Murugan, Manager

for permission to clean the temple and all help including Lunch at their Annadhanam programme.

Members were divided into several groups.
The ladies group headed by Ms. Venkata Lakshmi and Subashini lighted 108 lamps
at designated areas adjacent to Deivayani Sannadhi.
All members cleaned the walls, floor of middle portions of Temple.
A special mention need to be made for Sri. Manickam who came with 13 members of his family and friends.
They cleaned the amman sannadhi which was dirty with oily sticky on the floor and was cleaned well.
We thank Sri Manickam and his team of volunteers. The 3 side walls of main sannadhi
were dusted, cleaned by Shri. Rajaraman, and his team, K. Balaji, Narmadha etc.
Finally floor areas of middle sannadhi were cleaned with detergents and water.
Dr.R.Subramanian did 2 Archanais for Dr. N. Srinivasan, and Kavya Subasri D/O Dr. Sudha Rajan
both living at Houston, TX at their request. No photos were taken due to failure of Camera.
Our 68 month TC is on Sunday 24 July, 2011 at Sri. Bala Subramanya Swamy Tirukoil, Eldams Road, Teynampet.
It is planned that from August we will go on Third Sundays for Temple cleaning as suggested by several of our members.

Report on : 12 June Orikkai and Kanchi Trip
LDSFT organized an anmiga sutrula trip to Orikkai Manimandapam and Kanchipuram on Sunday 12 June, 2011.
A total number of 42 people including 21 ladies participated. On way, we went to Vengadu,
where LDSFT is renovating an old Siva temple, [Kamakshi Amman Udanurai Ekambambara Nateswarar temple]
and did an archanai. Dr. R. Subramanian explained about history of the temple.
Devotees donated Rs. 1306/ on the spot for renovation.
We reached Orikkai, witnessed a Rudra Homam performed by a team from Tiruvanmiyur on Maha Periava jayanthi day.
All devotees spent time in front of Maha Periava sannadhi and attended Homam.
We then proceeded to Kanchi mutt and had Darshan of both Periavas individually.

We all joined Annadhanam at mutt for Lunch.

After a rest of one hour at mutt, we all had special darisanam at Kamakshi Amman temple.
On return we were at Kanchi Mutt Mueseum, Vedal, Enathur.
Shri. Muthuswamy, Manager [Tel: 2729 4337 / 93 8108 3735] explained the exhibits.
Our members appreciated well the photos and Dolls in the museum. We reached Chennai at 8.30 PM.
It is planned our next trip to same places on Sunday 17 July, 2011,
where LDSFT plan to inaugurate Spiritual Satsangh in the presence of Periava at Orikkai Manimandapam at 10 AM.

LDSFT is organising uzhavara pani [Temple Cleaning] on second Sundays of every month.
LDSFT is engaged on several other activities of temples like 108 thiruvilakku pujas, anmiga tours,
Integrated community development, Organisational networking, interacting like minded organizations,
establishing devotees forums, conducting lectures on Hindu dharma, general education,
training volunteers on spiritual healings at hospitals and forming youth forums. Volunteers and sponsors are needed.
