Report on: Kolapakkam Sri Agatheeswarar Temple Cleaning
As a part of Temple cleaning Project of Navagraham Temples in and around Chennai by volunteers of LDSFT,
31 members including 11 Ladies, cleaned Sri Agatheeswarar Temple [ Suryan sannadhi] on Sunday 26 June, 2009 Forenoon.
This is the first of the planned Navagraha Temples cleaning. All temple vessels and lamps were also cleaned.
All the sannadhis and Vigrahas were cleaned with soap-nut powder mixed with detergents to remove oily sticky substances.
The Nandanam area was also cleaned.
Sri Somasundara Gurukkal did archanai in all sannadhis for our devotees.
At Suryan sannadhi Sri Ram Kumar recited the Suryan and Gayathri Slokas, as prepared by Dr. Bala Aiyer.
Lunch was served to all members and the Temple staff.
Plans for various Hindu Dharma education programmes in that temple were discussed with
Sri. Murthy, Dharmakartha of the Temple. Persons interested in getting more information about this event
