LDSFT organized a gettogether of members on Sunday 5 July, 2009, 4 PM at Kamakoti Dyana Mandapam, Valasarawakkam. Sri Vedanarayanan, IAS (Retd) Chairman, LDSFT presided and there were 12 members who attended the meeting.

Dr. R. Subramanian welcomed the members gave a brief account of present activities and future plans. He said this meeting is to get a feed back from each member on present functioning and future works, keeping the 10 objectives.

Chairman, LDSFT, emphasized the need for teaching of Sanskrit language and training in recitation of Rudram, Chamakam, and other Vedic prayer songs. Members welcomed the Monthly Temple cleaning Programmes suggested it can be pre-poned to 3rd Sunday of each month. The school in the place near the Temples to be cleaned each month should be approached for the students to join the cleaning as the day being a Sunday they will be able to join and their family also can be involved. Generally school children are to be involved in this noble work.

Teaching Sanskrit in temples, Hindu Dharma lessons, Vedic classes, Vedapatasalas in Temples is to be encouraged. Various Hindu dharma classes in public places, introduction of distance education at certificate level, priests and preachers' training were also suggested. It was decided to prepone July 26 temple cleaning at Somangalam Chandran temple to Sunday 19th July, in view of absence of Dr.R.Subramanian from Chennai visiting Singapore and Malaysia.
