LDSFT recently organized a very successful programme of Alayadarisanams or Temple tours from Chennai to Nagapattinam District on 5th and 6th May, 2009. 55 members joined and had a very comfortable and enjoyable time in the bus trip of holy tour of visiting several ancient Hindu Temples.

They visited Singaperumal Koil, Maduranthakam, Puducherry, Sirgazhi, Thirupunkur, Vaitheeswaran Koil, Thiru Ilandur, Thiruvidaimaruthur, Mayuram, Thalachengadu, Mayanam, Thirukkadaiyur, and Chidambaram. They visited 12 Temples and performed Pooja, including 2 abhishekams and one Pradhosha pooja. Details and photos can be viewed at our website www.Lokadharma.org .

Another set of 32 members had to be denied of this opportunity due to late registration and limitation of seating capacity in the tour bus. If interested people contact early, additional transportations can be arranged with more buses and vans for such programmes.

Thiruvadhigai - One of the Ashta Veerattanam temples. Appar restored to Hindu Religion relieved of his stomach ailment at the prayers of his sister Thilagavathiar. Appar then sang "Kootrayinavaru" padhigam here.
Sayana Narasimhar - The only Narasimhar idol in the world in lying posture in the 1000 year old temple.
Thirupadhiripuliyur.- The Jains tied Appar to heavy stones and threw him into sea. Appar surfaced safely when he sang the padhigam "Kattrunai pootti kadalil paichinum nattrunai avadhu namasivayave" here praising the Lord.
Thiruvaiyaru - very sacred temple of Siva. Everything is five here. Five rivers, five praharams, sound echos five times. Five lingams. Sundarar & Cheraman were helped to cross the River Kavery by Ayyarappan ordering the floods to stop and give way to them. Appar saw Kailash here. Meditation here in front of Dhakshinamurthy after kavery+gangajalam abishekam to the Panchalingam and lighting a ghee/casteroil lamp is a sacred and rare opportunity for us. First praharam is occupied by 63 nayanmar tied to the matted hair of the Lord and Nobody should step in to this area.
Thirumazhapadi - one of the Sapthasthanam temples. Nandhi peruman wedding was witnessed by the Shiva here. Chandran lost its kalangam here.
Thiruneythanam - one of the sapthasthanam temples
Thirukandiyur - Brahma's 5th head was removed here.
Thiruchottruthurai - Parameswara granted an Akshayapathram to a Sivabaktha Arulalar. No shortage of food for worshippers here.
Thiruvedhikudi - 1600 year old temple. Brahma worshipped Dhakshinamurthi here. Sage Vyasa built his Ashram here.
Thirupoonthuruthi - one of the sapthasthanam temples. Veenadhara Dhakshinamurthy is here. Pithrusapa vimochanam ia here.
Thingalur - is a navagraha sthalam for Chandran. Appar visited Appoodhi adigal here.
