Now
we are celebrating the completion of two years of the formation of this organization
named Loka Dharma Seva Foundation Trust or LDSFT. Our main objective has been
to work together to create a proper path for our Hindu Dharma to grow and flourish
with all its glory around the world. During this short period of time we are pleased
to inform of several successful events of various kinds that were organized and
achieved by our members and our Board with Divine Blessings and good wishes of
every one. We have planned and have taken up several projects and organized several
events for the benefit of the Hindu Community and growth of our traditions and
for the reform and renaissance with glory of Hindu Dharma. Our trustees Sri
P.N. Vedanarayanan, Sri R. Subramanian and Sri K. Sankaran will explain in details
about our projects and events. The main Purpose and Objectives of the formation
of our LDSF Trust is to create a forum with a new understanding for planning a
renaissance and a reform in this new Century, the 6th millennium of Kaliyuga,
for strengthening the Hindu community and Hindu Dharma, especially for the youth
as also for the entire community. At the present time, there are several organizations,
groups and individuals who are trying to work on similar projects everywhere.
But, many of these groups are working only in some areas and on specific targeted
projects, without much coordination and at times often competing with one another.
Often their achievements are temporary or partial without a long-term goal or
vision.
| |
LDSFT
will be functioning in a different way in that, it will plan and coordinate various
needed activities for the community in several areas and continue the follow up
activities with Hindu community development, maintenance of the projects and necessary
oversight. They will work in full cooperation with other similar groups and organizations
to achieve the necessary goals. LDSFT will work and plan and perform all their
projects with the blessings of the Pujya Sri Acharyas, Sri Periyava and Sri Balaperiyava,
and with the full cooperation and support of Srimatam.

To
put it in simple English, the needs of reform for the renaissance of Hindu Dharma
has to be planned with a vision that needs to be a coordinated effort of several
organizations. We, all of us, need to work together in concert, without competing
or opposing each other. All of us need to be involved in various activities in
several areas according to our grand vision. In this, we must have a proper strategic
planning of our activities, with realistic thinking and proper vision, rather
than idealistic dreams. For this, first we need to wake up from our sleep and
slumber to get our dreams come true and act on them with proper vision. Yes, we
need to have a True Vision to fulfill our dreams. Some of the important Objectives
of LDSFT and the major groups of projects planned are as follows:
| |
1.
We must plan and develop an International Headquarters and Institute for Hindu
Dharma Studies. Here, we can arrange for advanced studies and research with large
classrooms, Library and conference halls for students and teachers meet and for
our Acharyas address the world about the culture, traditions, philosophy and practice
of Hindu Dharma. 2. There are several thousands of village temples and
several more small temples and prayer halls in and around the cities which are
in a ruined and dilapidated state that needs to be rebuilt, rejuvenated and maintained.
There are many small temples which need maintenance support with arrangements
for daily pooja services.
| |
| | 3.
The Priests, Poojaris and all other Temple employees need to be supported for
a decent living and help for education, technical training and other comforts
for them and their family members. This is very important for the growth and glory
of Hindu Dharma. 4. Hindu Dharma and its cultural glory must be popularized
among all members of the various Hindu communities by organizing programs for
Devotional songs with explanations of the meanings and philosophy. To achieve
this we must make all our Small Temples as institutes of Learning.
| |
| | 5.
In addition, next to all the Temples, we need to organize class rooms of regular
schools for Hindu Dharma Studies. Our Hindu philosophy, culture and traditions
can be taught here from primary level to advanced levels. 6. At the
same time, we need to organize several programs for public health, Medical care,
general educational assistance and Social and community welfare projects in all
villages and city areas adjacent to these small temples. This will include health
education, medical check-ups and free medical camps, purified water supply, help
for the disabled and handicapped, orphanages and elder care. In addition, we can
also organize teachers training program to have spiritually trained train teachers
to work every where, in all regular schools.
| |
| | 7.
At this time, graduate level studies in Universities, technical colleges and medical
colleges, big hospitals and healthcare centers are being organized and run by
state government and some big private individual corporations. Leaving aside these
ones and avoiding competitions, we can organize programs of evening and week-end
educational / tutoring classes for poor school children along with Hindu Dharma
education. 8. For some needy members of the Hindu community, we can
organize a scholarship program for higher education, based on their education
in Hindu Dharma and its culture and tradition, using their Hindu studies as additional
qualifying points. Also, we can arrange to organize some spiritually oriented
studies. [eg.: MA in Teaching, Spiritual Psychology, Spiritual Journalism, MBA
in Temple Administration, Sanskrit Research].
| |
| | Common
to all these plans and programs, there is some basic work we all will need to
do. That is to change our basic outlook and approach to all these problems. First
of all, we need to create a sense of unity and oneness of all Hindus and join
together to teach and train all Hindus to a basic level of all aspects and paths
of Hindu Dharma, with a sense of unity.
