Vengadu Siva Temple - Latest Plans for construction

Loka Dharna Seva Foundation Trust [Regd] has undertaken to rejuvenate a Sivan Temple at Vengadu, located in Sri Perumpudur Taluk , Kanchipuram District. Kanchi Periavas named the temple as Kamakshi Udanurai Ekambaranatheswarar Temple. An ancient Siva temple was found in this site in a dilapidated shape.

The Temple will be constructed in 2 phases with the blessings of both Periyavas of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The first phase will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 Lakhs, that will consist of the Main Sannadhi for Siva, an Amman Sannadhi, and a vinayagar sannadhi at the entrance, a small front hall along with a compound wall, a well for clean water supply and gates.

Sri. K. Sankaran IFS [Retd] and his family have graciously agreed to donate Rs 5 Lakhs and we have additional pledges for donation of more than Rs one Lakh from other devotees. We expect to collect more donations in the coming months.

The second Phase will include about 10 sannadhis, including Sri Subramanya, Sri Ayyappa, Sri Durga, Sri Nataraja and other Deities according to Agama rules and also Nagar sannadhi around the big tree in the area. Shri. Satyanarayana Sastri is coordinating for second Phase of construction at an estimated cost of about Rs 20 Lakhs. Shri. Ravi Sivachariar, Chief Priest of Mangadu Amman Temple will oversee construction with help of a Sthapathy, and civil contractor.
