SRI
SUNDARESWARAR NARPANI MANRAM
(To Renovate & Maintain Ancient Temples)
e-mail: soneswar@yahoo.co.in
Tamil
Nadu has in its Ancient Temples, rare / beautiful Sculptures and Architectures.
It evokes distress to find that most of them are in dilapidated conditions
and on the verge of disappearance and ruination.
INTRODUCTION:
SRI SUNDARESWARAR NARPANI MANRAM was formed to renovate neglected
Temples in this Village. Already TWO Dilapidated / Ancient Temples
- Sri Sundareswarar Temple and Sri Venkatesa Perumal Temple - (all
more than 500 hundred years old) have been taken up for renovation
WITH THE HELP OF GENEROUS DONATIONS FROM DEVOTEES, utilizing the physical
help of local villagers and under the supervision of our Renovation
Group.
RENOVATION
ACTIVITIES: In all these ruined temples, huge bushes and deep roots
have been cleared. The cracks on the Temples' Structures / Roof fixed.
The Sculptures, Murals and the Images restored. We involved local
residents to perform KUMBABHISHEKAMS for these Temples and also for
future upkeep.
RENOVATION
FOR THE FOLLOWING THIRD TEMPLE IS BEING TAKEN UP BY THIS NARPANI
MANRAM.
SRI
CHOLEESWARAR TEMPLE, NEIKUPPAI VILLAGE,
Near Pandanallur (on the Pandanallur--Sirkazhi Bus Route),
Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu.
