Renovation of Sri Varasidhdhi Vinayagar Temple,
Hindu Colony, NanganallurChennai -600061

Consecration of this temple took place on 2nd September 1971.
Consecration of this temple took place on 2nd September 1971.
Separate shrines were constructed for Sri Rama, Sri Anjaneya, Sri Muruga, Sri Chandramouleeshwarar
and Sri Thirupurasundari Devi over the years from out of the public donations.
The temple also has Sri Dakshinamurthy, Sri Chandikeswara, Sri Durga and Navagraha Vigrahas
duly installed as per Agama. The temple also has an adjoining Pravachana Mandapam of
dimension 60' x 40' which is used for conducting small religious public functions also.

It has now been decided to have the next Samprokshanam in 2012
as per Saiva Agama Text Rules giving face-lift to the temple as follows:
1. To raise the floor level of the temple;
2. To cover the entire temple area with R.C.C. roofing;
3. To construct a mini Rajagopuram at the entrance

Boomi Pooja for this renovation work was done on 28th October 2009.

The cost of the project was then estimated at around Rs 18 lakhs.
Though the work has been progressing ever since then, pace of the work is
constrained by the need for required finance. The temple still needs finance of Rs
8-9 lakhs for due completion of the renovation work.

The temple Renovation Committee, therefore, seeks liberal public donations in this regard.
Interested NRI donors may please send in their donations by way of cheques drawn
in favour of The Hindu Colony Sri Varasiddhi Vinayagar Temple Thiruppani Committee
in Indian Rupee through their Indian sources / representatives as the temple authorities
have not sought special permission for accepting remittances in foreign currency.
