A Grand Plan for Hindu Renaissance and Revival

Explanation of Ideas and Plans for Organization- - 06

As we read the earlier discussion for the Grand plan for Hindu Dharma, some of us may question in our own mind: "what are the needs for these expensive and difficult plans?" "Why do we need to change when the going seems to be good?" Well, let us think for a while. "Is it going well?" or "is the going to be all gone before too long?" While the innocent, ignorant, illiterate, poor and downtrodden are the targets of the new groups who try to harvest or fish in the troubled waters, should we do something about it and change things as the time demands. May be, we have a billion people and some of us may think, losing couple of million poor and "unwanted" may not matter much. Is that really so or will it matter if such harvested ones are our neighbor or our own family? Already, some groups in the lower part of our ladder of Varna hierarchy are revolting to split away. Caste feelings are played up a lot by the interested secular politicians for keeping them in power. Before too long many of the lower jaathi members of the society, under the real or imaginary discriminations, may adopt a Christian or Islamic faith or join the Buddhist faith. Some may invent and create a new religion, as already talked about in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. We still will have a billion people. Alright!

Now with a volatile situation that exists now, it becomes necessary that we need to make some rethinking of our short term plans and long term goals. The first thing that comes to our mind is do nothing, and postpone all our ideas. Then the purpose is lost. No body wins and more so, we all lose. We need to realize that there a definite, clear and present danger. This danger is for Hindu Dharma itself. We need to think and stick to our ideals with purity, of course. At the same time, when survival in a war like situation it is not for ideals as in Ramayana, but more like the realistic and practical plan of action as taught in Mahabharata. Let us keep in mind all the plans and program we thought about and continue work in a private capacity as a new project for the survival Sanatana Dharma in a glorious future. Ideal thinking is good, but at the same time, we need to thinl practical and plan accordingly, based on the realities of the time and place we are living in. Initially, any way, the first one year of plan is mainly going to be just plans in paper and meetings and more plans and more meetings. We need to plan and organize in the mean time in several areas with all sections of our councils. We need to contact several of our religious leaders for their blessings and support.

The main body is to build and organize centers -with several sections under the General Council - Apex Body Headquarters::
i. Independent Temple development organization is to be organized as planned before; This will develop mostly with local resources. There will be Temple renovation projects for old Temples. This will encourage more people to visit Temples, learn and understand the Hindu Dharma and also attend to Temple and Devotional worship services and practice the faith properly.
ii. Priests and Poojari training programs will conduct training and refresher courses at regional headquarters level. They will also train priests, teachers and preachers; full time and part time, who will be able to train and preach the Hindu Dharma to the general public in Hindu Dharma classes.
iii. Priests, Archakas, home priests and Poojaris welfare programs will be organized to assure a decent living standard and assistance for them and their family members. A healthy priests family ensures a healthy Hindu community and more people will come forward to take up these duties of devotional services, preaching and teaching.
iv. Hindu Dharma education program to be organized at each Temple with evening and week-end classes, to teach Hindu Dharma, Sanskrit and local languages. They should also plan to develop training and welfare programs for the Priests, Archakas, Preachers and teachers who are needed as well trained leaders to uphold our Hindu Dhrma and its propagation.
v. Health, General Education and Social Welfare centers twill be organized, including advanced studies, research and development, and university level education; The school education will be spiritually based, including studies on Hindu and Eastern Philosophy. University educational programs will be developed in Spiritual Psychology, MBA in Temple management, Spiritually oriented Journalism courses and Accounting course and Legal studies that will include courses of studies in Hindu Dharsana and Hindu Philosophy.
vi. The Organization headquarters with Research centers will be planned not for one location but at several locations. There will be an Apex body of General council members organizing the administrative and planning work. This will be for organizing meetings, training the core group, to arrange symposium and research studies.
