| | Explanation
of Ideas and Plans for Organization- - 07 | |
| | We
must teach Hindu texts to all Hindus both male and female, equally with facilities
to integrate the society as a single group, including the lower classes of society
and welcoming new entrants. This will give a sense of pride and strength of unity.
Please consider these ideas along with documents already planned, so that we can
stat working on evolving a new plan. The basic idea should remain that ALL Hindus
are equal. The discrimination should be only towards those who are well read [teachers
and preachers] and those who are still learning [students]. We will teach every
one to accept variations in our traditions. As a group, we can stand against the
anti-Hindu forces and we shall support all Hindu sects and groups. Any other small
group planning these types of work can be brought under one umbrella organization
that will be ours.
| |
| | We
will ignore some of the Shastric sanctions and rules based on gender and jaathi.
We can start raising funds for Temple development and evening and week end classes.
People will be encouraged to register their names if they are doing research studies
at other universities, so that can get together in meetings and exchange ideas.
In proposing the new project, all members should openly but confidentially discuss
some matters. Some of the topics may be irritating or sensitive or embarrassing,
but it is better to openly discuss rather than feel sorry later. It is important
that each member write up some of their thoughts into a proposal of ideas from
them for discussion to arrive at a consensus and improve or thoughts and action.
An open minded discussion of what need to be done will be very helpful. This is
important to plan well.
| |
| | The
prime question will be to know if the group is to work for the total welfare and
uplift of the entire Hindu society or just for some groups of Hindus following
ancient traditions. Are we going to attach ourselves to the Sashtras as practiced
by the present day orthodox exclusively? Will we take any practical new path
to be inclusive of all communities and groups and also encourage the study
and practice of the paths of Vedantha, Advaitha, Bhakthi and other groups that
is Hindu Dharma as a whole? I personally do not mind either path, but which ever
cause we want to take, we need to plan accordingly and stick to that path irrespective
of consequences. There is lot of work in either path. Then, there are several
alternate paths that can be planned and organized on which, we may be able to
decide in the beginning, considering the pros and cons and also plan to discuss
how others will take advantage of the situation and cause damages. Our plans
should always focus on an all inclusive program rather than any exclusive
paths. Though, we may concentrate on Veda Vyasa, Aadhi Sankara and Smartha paths
of Vedas and Agamas, the teachings and traditions of all other paths and teachers
should be included, with full cooperation with all groups.
