of Ideas and Plans for Organization- - 12 | |

do we plan?- Why, how and what to plan. - [part-2]
| |
| | 9.
The Brahmins in South Indian states are only 3 percent of the population, especially
in Tamilnadu, with many of them already moved out to the other states or to the
West. The priests, who want to serve only the Brahmin family according to the
old traditions, will have very little job opportunity available. So, it is prudent
to offer Vedic studies and Vedic rituals to everyone. 10. The birth
based Varna system will become non-existent in the next few years with marriages
across the jaathi lines. Already this is non-existent in many areas. There are
no Tamil Kshatriyas or Vysias. Education based Varna system and service to the
entire community is the only practical solution.
| |
| | 11.
We need to elevate the lowest classes of the society and also accept new entrants
with open arms. Otherwise, many of these groups of people will go to small sectarian
Hindu Swamis or go outside to seek other faiths. So, education based Varna, and
simple family name based Jaathi is one solution. Changing the names of the lower
classes alone will not solve the problems. They need to be merged with the society,
losing their class identity. 12. The renovation and reconstruction of
many independent Temples, along with educational programs, from basic to priest
level and finally research levels of studies to all in the Hindu community, of
both genders, is the prime solution.
| |
| | 13.
Thinking like missionary organizations, we must also have the social service organizations,
elder care, orphanages, hospitals, regular schools and collages to serve the people.
This also should be within our long term plan. 14. We must encourage
training of individuals to be like teachers, speakers and preachers, both part
time and full time to the community like the missionaries and evangelists. They
should bring in some discipline and military like training also, if needed. They
should conduct classes in evenings and week-ends for all interested people for
all jaathis of both genders.
| |
| | 15.
They should not insist on many of the blind ritualistic aacharas, this includes
vegetarianism, traditional clothing, celibacy and other restrictions of life for
the basic students and ordinary Hindus, except at the highest levels. Some of
the aacharas can be followed by all on specific days and months. 16.
Full aachara rules shall be followed by Priests, Teachers and Swamijis who are
needed to teach the general public about all aspects of the religion. Swamijis
need not be Sanyaasis with celibacy but can be married. Sanyaasa is only at the
end or fourth stage of life. We need highly educated PhD among priests who will
be like Swamijis and professors to take up local leadership.
