ajo'pi sann avyayaathmaa bhoothaanaam Isvaro'pi san |
prakr.thim svaam adhistaaya sambhavaamy-aathma-maayayaa || -IV - 6 ||
Chapter IV - 6 -- Though unborn and immortal, and also the Lord of all beings,
I manifest myself through my own divine potency (Yogamaya),
keeping My Nature (Prakrti) under control.

yadhaa yadhaa hi dharmasya glaanir bhavathi bhaaratha |
abhyutthaanm adharmasya thadhaathmaanam sr.jaamyaham || -IV - 7 ||
Chapter IV - 7 -- Whenever there is decline of righteousness, and ascendance of
unrighteousness, then with My maya I manifest Myself forth.

parithraanaaya saadhoonaam vinaasaaya cha dhushkr.thaam |
dharma-samsthaapanaarthaaya sambhavaami yuge' yuge' || -IV - 8 ||
Chapter IV -8 -- For the protection of the virtuous, for the destruction of evil-doers, and for
establishing the rule of righteousness ( Dharma ), I am born from age to age [in every age].

janma karma cha me' dhivyam e'vam yo vetthi thatthvathah: |
thyakthvaa dheham punar janma naithi maam-e'thi so'rjunaa || -IV - 9 ||
Chapter IV -9 -- My birth and activities are divine. He who knows this in reality
does not take birth again on leaving his body, but attains Me.

Chapter: VII
 
 
yo yo yaam yaam thanum bhakthah: sraddhayaarchithum icchathi |
thasya thasya-achalaam sraddhaam thaam e'va vidhadhaamy-aham || -VII -21 ||
Chapter VII -21 -- Whatever celestial form a devotee (craving for some worldly object)
seeks to worship Me with faith, I stabilize the faith of that devotee in that very form.
 
 

Chapter: IX

 
 
pithaaham asya jagatho maathaa dhaathaa pithamahah: |
vedhyam pavithram omkaara r.k saama yajur e'va cha || -IX - 17 ||
Chapter IX -17 -- I am the sustainer and ruler of this universe;
I am its father, mother, the support and grand father; I am the knowable,
the purifier, the Sacred Om and all the R.k, Yajur and Saama Vedas.
