Measuring
Food:- Food
should be measured. Use a standard 8 ounce measuring cup, a standard teaspoon
and standard table spoon. All measurements are level. Most foods are measured
after cooking.

Preparation:- Meat should be baked, boiled or broiled. Do not
fry foods unless fat is allowed.

Food:- There is no need to buy special foods.
Foods can be selected from the same foods purchased for other family members.
Skimmed milk, low Calorie bread, lean meat, fats and fruits [fresh or canned without
sugar are preferred.

Diabetics should avoid:- Sugar, sweets, candy, honey, pie and all
foods prepared with sugar. Diabetics should also avoid high fat and cholesterol
diets, beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages.
For
weight control, avoid :- All
fats, fried food,s sweets, and all foods prepared with sugar and oil.
Always

breads contain only 4 calories per gram.
