Early Disbelief to a Blind Faith in a Superior Force for Rewards | |
| | | Modern
science has explained that the human creation had several thousand genetic variations
in the millions of years since it appeared on this earth. However it is believed
that, just like the dinosaurs in the past, about 80,000 years back a natural environmental
calamity of destruction with volcanoes, earthquakes, and an ice-age of global
freeze destroyed most of the human species on this planet and only about 1000
families or less with similar DNA survived this calamity that has now spread all
over the world. Their DNA showed some subtle changes by mutation in their off-springs
to create the present variations. [ref.

| | | The
vast majority of population in the Indian sub-contnant belongs to the same genetic
trait that originated about 50,000 years back through one male and two female
ancestory. These formed the entire Indian race and population of the subcontinant.
When they organized as communities, some where hunters and nomadic tribes and
some settled in and around waterfront areas, river valleys and seashore areas.
They had the fear of being attacked by natural furies, jungle animals and violent
tribes. So, the most basic feeling they had naturally is fear. As they seek protection
and longed for peace, they prayed to a supreme force. They see an angry God who
will come to punish them if they do not behave properly.
| |
| | | At
the earliest level we have the Tãmasika** men, unable to comprehend,
see a God of fear. When they see the calamities develop a Blind Faith for the
God of fury. They live by their instinct and looked for a "Leader",
an intelligent and powerful one among community members, to protect them from
an angry God. These leaders asked them to follow certain social rules and to do
specific prayers. The illiterate person that believes in a Supreme God following
their leaders' words, the Divine is understood as one with vengeful, fearsome
and angry personality, who insists on good behavior with the threat of punishment.
| |
| | | Some
look for scientific proof for all statements and all beliefs. They trust their
intelligence from knowledge. They deny anything they cannot comprehend, but refuse
to read, learn or try to understand. This gives raise to those men who are agnostic
and some who are blatantly Atheistic, like Charvaka as also several leaders
of modern times. In their discriminating and analytical minds, there is no place
for a thought of any Superior force of a divine either for a boon or a punishment.
They fail to go for the proper analysis for their study to acquire the proper
knowledge. How can you prove the chemical characters of a fruit or the value of
a diamond in a physics laboratory? They doubt this unseen force. Some of them
follow their own conscience do service to needy people while other found no reason
for any such discipline, except for that which will give them pleasure and profit.
These men look for only material benefits and bodily pleasures.
