Spiritual Power of Sound of Prayers and Manthras

How the Sound and Vibrations affect the Body and Soul

In the primordial state, before the creation of all Universe and its beings, God remains in an eternal vibrant resting forms. Here we need to understand a state of electromagnetic sound form of force field every where. There is sound, energy and force with a rhythm of vibration. When the universe is created, all the suns, stars and planets revolve around at a set speed and rhythm. Like a revolving fan and motor in the room filled with air, these worlds revolve around the electromagnetic particles of space causing a supersonic humming sound. This is why we say God is in the form of sound first. The earliest parts of Rig Veda calls Rta as a form of God. This is the humming buzz representing an understanding of God as Sound and rhythm in the limitless sky or space. This supersonic humming noise in space is heard or felt by the intuitive powers of our sages like Viswamitra who called it the Pranava.

Thus the Supreme is represented in the revolving sound of AUM in the universe representing the Divine Truth. From sound and space, came air, fire, water and earth as the five elements. Sage Viswamitra praises the powers of creation and sustenance powers of Sun by the Gayatri Mantra he has given to us. Gayatri represents our intellect and intuitive powers, while Savithri is our thoughts and mind and Saraswathi is our knowledge and speech. Thus recitation of Gayathri, as praise to the Sun and the creator strengthens our intelligence and intuitive powers.

As we recite the mantra the force fields around the individual get organized like an electrical charge. This gives the necessary powers to perform our Karma. Different Mantras have varying effects and powers. It is not the language or the meaning but it is the sound that organizes the force fields on our body and in the surroundings. Of course, the language and the meaning create the effects of our thoughts to materialize. The sound has the effect so also the meaning of the words recited also has the power of materializing the words spoken. So, we need to learn the proper words, meaning, and sound including the tune and rhythm properly as initiated by a Guru. It is widely believed that positive thinking and our words causes the vibrations to control and modify the activities around us and make our thoughts become a reality.

In Ramayana, when Sri Rama feels how he is going to find Seetha and how he is going to fight with the mighty army of Ravana, a fear comes into his mind. Sage Agasthyar gives him the initiation by teaching Adhitya Hrudhayam to get strength of mind and proper clear vision. Then, Sri Hanuman appears on the scene to help Him in His quest. Recitation of Adhitya Ashtakam and Adhitya Hrudhayam improves the strength of mind. Similarly recitations of Sri Rudhram, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sri Indrakshi Sivakavacham and many others have many positive effects. This is what is called the power of manthras.
